Terms of Service

Pranced grades domain names (how easy they are to say, spell, and remember, and what risks they may carry), estimates price ranges, and helps you find available names. Pranced doesn't sell domains.

Everything Pranced shows is an estimate or information, not advice:

• Grades and scores are Pranced's opinion. Others may disagree.
• Prices are estimates, not formal appraisals or offers to buy or sell.
• Trademark notes aren't legal advice. Check official records and ask a lawyer before relying on a name.
• Nothing here is financial advice. Ask a qualified professional before financial decisions.
• Availability can change at any moment, and some names carry registry premium prices.

You're responsible for your own decisions, including what you buy, sell, bid on, register, or build.

We don't register, buy, back-order, bid on, sell, or share the domain names you check, and we don't let anyone else use your searches to do so. See the Privacy Policy.

• You sign in with a link sent to your email; there's no password. Anyone who can read your email can sign in, so keep your email secure.
• You must be at least 13 (16 in the EU and UK) and old enough to make a binding contract where you live.
• One person per account. Don't share accounts or open extra ones to get around limits.
• You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us right away if you think it's been misused.

• Pranced is in beta. It may change, have errors, or be unavailable at times, and features and limits may change without notice.
• Free accounts are open to anyone, and you can run one appraisal or one name search without an account. Accounts created with an invite code get full access free, with beta usage limits, and nothing is billed during the beta. We'll tell you before the beta ends and before anything is charged.

• Free use has limits (a few appraisals a day and one name search per account). Pro and Portfolio have the limits shown on the pricing page, which may change with notice.
• To protect the service from automated use, paid plans are also limited to a number of name searches a day (20 on Pro, 40 on Portfolio), reset at midnight UTC.
• Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe (not during the free beta) and renew until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account; your plan runs to the end of the paid period.
• Prices don't include taxes unless stated. If prices change, we'll tell you at least [30] days ahead, and the new price starts with your next billing period.
• Refunds: [Choose one: "We don't offer refunds for partial months." OR "If you're not satisfied, contact us within 7 days of your first payment for a full refund."]
• We may pause free features briefly during very high demand; paid plans aren't affected.

Don't use Pranced to:

• break the law or anyone's rights, including trademarks (for example, to find names that impersonate a company);
• harass anyone, including through shortlists, notes, or friend tests;
• scrape Pranced, or copy or resell its reports, scores, or data in bulk, including as a competing data product;
• use bots or automated tools, except any official API we offer;
• get around limits, security, or bot protection;
• upload lists or content you don't have the right to use (if you upload expiring-domain lists, follow the terms of the site you got them from);
• interfere with Pranced or other users.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

• You keep ownership of what you enter or upload: names, ideas, lists, and notes.
• You let us use it to run Pranced for you, and to make aggregate, de-identified statistics that reveal no individual name or person.
• What you choose to share (share links, badges, shortlists, friend tests) can be seen by anyone with the link. You can turn share links off anytime.

Pranced's software, design, scoring methods, reports, and name stories belong to us or our licensors. You may use reports for your own purposes, including through our share tools and badge. Don't copy, sell, or republish them in bulk without our written permission. "Pranced" and our logo are our trademarks.

Pranced links to and relies on others, such as domain registries, marketplaces, auction sites, and escrow services. We don't control them. Buying, selling, or bidding on domains happens with them, under their terms; Pranced doesn't handle domain transactions or payments between buyers and sellers.

We may add, change, or remove features. We'll tell you by email or on the site before important changes to these terms take effect; using Pranced afterwards means you accept them.

You can stop using Pranced and delete your account anytime. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or if we stop offering Pranced. If we end a paid plan without cause, we'll refund the unused part of your current period.

Pranced is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including about accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't promise that Pranced will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any name will be available, valuable, or free of legal risk.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Pranced and its owners, employees, and partners aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or opportunities, including losses from buying, selling, bidding on, registering, or choosing a domain based on Pranced. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so some may not apply to you.

If you break these terms or the law, or infringe someone's rights through Pranced, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and claims that result for Pranced, to the extent the law allows.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Georgia. Before filing any claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally.

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Pranced. If any part is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term right away doesn't waive it. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may if Pranced is sold or merged.
